Growth
The third focus of the Los Angeles Chapter is growing our grassroots effectiveness, growing our membership, growing the number of activist members, and growing the coordination of the LA single payer coalition.
1. Key to our grassroots effectiveness is providing an officer structure for members to work independently in their sphere of the organization yet in synchronicity with the overall strategy of the organization. We also have a regular meeting which allows officers to report back to the members who come in person and who view our videocasts.
2. Key to growing our membership is the work of our membership chair, Hilary Siebens, who oversees our welcome process for all new members which includes an invitation to meetings and an invitation to become active in the organization if they so choose. She also works with our speakers panel to reach out to all audiences for new members.
3. Key to our mission of fostering activism is the belief that many PNHP members do want to actively participate in the organization as long as the activity has value, utilizes their strenths, and has a manageable time expectation (our goal is 4 hours per month).
4. Key to building our coalition is providing leadership, coordination and a venue to meet regularly.
